Hello everyone, I’m Genie. Today, I’d like to share my experience of being on a plant-based diet for a year.
In the past, I was a hardcore meat lover.
But some years ago, my cat fell ill. To pray for its recovery, I made a wish to the gods that if my cat gets better, I’ll adopt a plant-based diet for a year. And, my wish came true π
My cat recovered, and I embarked on my journey into the world of plant-based living. πΈπ₯
Initially, I was fearful of going meatless, worrying about being hungry and lacking essential nutrients. But I soon realized my fears were unfounded!
Going plant-based not only made me healthier but also enhanced my beauty πΉ. Previously, I often felt fatigued with dull skin, but after adopting a plant-based lifestyle, my overall well-being improved, and I haven’t been sick since.

Moreover, I noticed my skin became smoother and more elastic. Previously dull complexion transformed into a brighter and more even skin tone.
Of course, there are challenges in the plant-based journey. The most significant challenge is finding something to eat.
Before, I used to dine out, easily finding a restaurant after work. However, after going plant-based, I discovered a scarcity of vegan eateries, especially at night.
I often complained, “Do vegetarians not have a nightlife?” π
One evening, after work, starving with no vegan restaurant in sight, I ended up buying a box of salad from a convenience store to munch on leaves.
To avoid starving, I started learning to cook my own plant-based meals.
I discovered that plant-based cooking is fascinating, not as challenging as I thought, and incredibly versatile πͺ. Many recipes can be prepared in under 15 minutes, even for a cooking novice like me.
